Seattle, WA / August 31, 2020 / 06:30 / Activists Calling for General Strike on September 1 and a March on Labor Day

SIGACTS/SITREP: Activists on twitter and Telegram are trying to start a general strike on September 1, 2020. Activists are also planning a demonstration for Labor Day which will start at the International District/Chinatown Light Rail stop on September 7th, 2020 and will likely move south the Seattle Police Officer’s Guild (two blocks south of Lander St on 4th Ave S) in the SODO neighborhood.

RECOMMENDATION: Expect more general demonstrations in the Seattle area starting on September 1, 2020 and expect activists to target commercial sectors to harass employees and patrons of businesses, especially in Downtown Seattle and the surrounding neighborhoods. On September 7, 2020, avoid the International District/Chinatown and SODO neighborhoods and avoid using the Link Light Rail system until further notice as this is likely a main mode of transportation used by activists. Several of the Link Light Rail stops are in the immediate vicinity of high frequency protest and high crime areas (Stadium stop, International District/Chinatown, Pioneer Square, University Street, Westlake, and Capitol Hill).
